Baseball Falls Twice to UNOH in WHAC Double-Header

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights baseball team hosted Northwestern Ohio in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference double-header on Wednesday. SHU dropped both contests to UNOH.

GAME ONE: SHU 5, UNOH 11
A big second inning helped the Racers off to a fast start and give them early control of the contest. UNOH scored another in the third and gave them a 6-0 lead. The Saints scored their first three in the fifth inning but Northwestern Ohio was not finished, scoring five more in the game and holding the Saints to just two more.

Snyder Torres led the Saints at the plate, batting 4-for-5 and scoring two runs. Ryley Overacker finished with a team high two RBI's. Reid Olmstead started on the mound and suffered the loss, pitching three innings and recording two strikeouts. Robert Oliver III came in for relief and pitched three innings before Wyatt West came in and pitched two innings and Marcus Beeson pitching one.

GAME TWO: SHU 14, UNOH 24
Siena Heights jumped off to an early lead, scoring two in the second and seven in the third. Steady scoring througout the rest of the game, helped lift the Racers back on top and carry them throughout the remainder of the contest and to the victory. 

Carson Wlad finished 3-for-4 at the plate while scoring two runs and one RBI. Kevin Ketvirtis batted 3-for-5 and recorded a team high, three RBI's. Taylor Acquista started on the mound and pitched 3.1 innings. Jayson Cleghorn came in for relief and went one inning before being replaced by Nic Olson, Trevor Willis and Ayden Hannon

The Saints will resume the game from April 9 that was suspended due to the weather, on Thursday, April 19. Game time is set for 5 p.m. A single, non-conference game will be played after.
