ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Height baseball team hosted Cornerstone in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference triple-header on Friday. The Saints finished 1-2 on the day in three, seven inning contests.
GAME ONE: SHU 0, Cornerstone 1
Offense was slow throughout the contest. Cornerstone scored the go ahead, and game winning run in the seventh and Siena Heights was not able to answer.
Snyder Torres, Brendan Green, Ryley Overacker and Riley Guntrip recorded the four SHU hits. Reid Olmstead started on the mound and went all seven innings, allowing eight hits, one earned run and one strike out.
GAME TWO: SHU 2, Cornerstone 6
Cornerstone opened scoring in the first, but the Saints were able to answer in the third and take the lead scoring two runs. The Golden Eagles scored five more runs from there and finished with 13 hits in the game to take the victory.
The four Saints' hits were made by Brenden Baker, Snyder Torres, Carson Wlad and Jacob Jones. Carson Wlad led the Saints with two RBI's. Taylor Acquista started at pitcher and went 5.2 innings. Acquista allowed 10 hits and struck out four. Michael Jones came in for relief and pitched the final 1.1 innings and allowed three hits.
GAME THREE: SHU 7, Cornerstone 6
Cornerstone scored the first run of the game in the third inning and tacked on another four in the fifth. Also in the fifth, the Saints began their comeback scoring four, for themselves. In the sixth, SHU scored three more to give them a 7-5 lead and was able to hold CU to one in the seventh and grab the victory.
Brenden Baker finished 2-for-3 for Siena Heights at the plate and recorded two RBI's. Brendan Green helped the Saints, batthing 2-for-4 and also finishing with two RBI's. Tristan Roth started on the mound and pitched four innings. Robert Oliver III pitched 0.1 innings before being relived by Jayson Cleghorn who finished out the final 2.2 innings.

The Saints will host Goshen (Ind.) in a non-conference double-header on Sunday, April 15. Games are set to begin at 2 p.m.
