Weather Halts Baseball in a Tie After Nine Innings With Lourdes

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team hosted Lourdes in the series finale on Monday. After nine innings, the game was tied at four a piece but the game was called due to snow and low temperatures. Plans to finish the contest are not set at this time.

Lourdes and Siena Heights both scored two in the second inning, and the Gray Wolves struck again scoring two in the fifth. In the bottom of the ninth for SHU, Riley Guntrip doubled to center and scored Jack Slavin and Brendan Green, tying the ball game at four. The game was called before a winner was determined so the game was left in a tie.

Brendan Green led the Saints at the plate batting 2-for-5 and scoring one run. Logan Nolff and Guntrip each finished with two RBI's. Taylor Acquista started on the mound and went five innings, allowing four runs and striking out four. Michael Jones came in for relief and pitched the remaining four innings only allowing one hit.

Lourdes was led by Jay Denman, batting 3-for-5. George Pastor finished with a team high, two RBI's. Ryan Stoller started pitching for the Gray Wolves and went three innings before being replaced by Liam Bloom who went four. Kyle Sacher and Adam Hoyos each pitched one inning for LU.

Next up, the Saints will travel to Aquinas on Tuesday, April 10, to make up a game that was rescheduled from April 4. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
