Head Coach John Kolasinski Earns 500th Career Win as Baseball Defeats Bethel

VERO BEACH, Fl. -- Siena Heights baseball head coach John Kolasinski earned his 500th career win on the Saints' 22-9 victory Tuesday over Bethel (Ind.). The game was played at Holman Stadium, long time Spring Training site of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After the first four innings, Bethel led the ball game 8-6. In the final five innings, Siena Heights held the Pilot's to just one run and scored another 16 themselves. 

Carson Wlad led the Saints batting 3-for-5, including a three run home run in the first inning. He also scored four runs and recorded four RBI's. Jacob Jones also put one over the fence, hitting a three run homer in the ninth. Freddy Jehle finished 2-for-4 at the plate, scored three runs and knocked in two RBI's. 

Wyatt West got the start on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings. Robert Oliver III came in for relief and earned the win, pitching 1.2 innings. Taylor Acquista finished the ball game pitching the final four innings and striking out a team high, four batters. 

For the Pilots, Brandon Diss went 2-for-2 at the plate while finishing with a team high two runs scored and two RBI's. Sean Luzon suffered the loss on the mound pitching five innings before being relived by Justin Rasmussen and Mason Love. 

Next up, the Saints will take on Saint Francis (Ill.) and Warner (Fl.) on Thursday, Mar. 8. Game times are set for 12 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively.
