Baseball Falls to Madonna in WHAC Contest

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team took on Madonna in the third game of the three game series on Sunday. SHU dropped the contest in seven innings by a score of 14-4.

The Saints (1-5, 0-3 WHAC) opened scoring, crossing the plate twice in the first inning. Madonna (3-0, 3-0 WHAC) answered by grabbing the lead in the second after scoring three runs and was able to maintain the lead by scoring at least once in all remaining innings. The Saints scored once in the third and once in the sixth, but it was not enough. 

Brenden Baker led SHU, batting 2-for-4, scoring one run, and knocking in two RBI's. Jack Slavin went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored two runs for Siena Heights. Tristan Roth started on the mound for the Saints, pitching 3.0 innings before Chris McKiddie entered the game for relief, pitching 2.2 innings and Marcus Beeson pitching 1.0.

Next up, the Saints will host Lawrence Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday, Sept. 30. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
