Baseball Dropped Season Opener to Roosevelt

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team opened the 2017-18 season on Friday evening in a non-conference contest against Roosevelt (Ill.).

Both teams were scoreless until the fourth when the Lakers crossed the plate for the game winning run.

Starting the season on the mound and suffering the loss, was Reid Olmstead, pitching six innings. Olmstead allowed seven hits and one run while striking out six. In for relief, was Erich Klingelhofer who pitched two innings before Chris McKiddie made his way to the mound for one inning where he allowed one hit and struck out one.

Both with two hits for the Saints, was Freddy Jehle going 2-for-3 at the plate, and Logan Nolff, finishing 2-for-4 in his at bats.

Next up, SHU will host Roosevelt in a double header beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16.
