Baseball Shuts Down Lourdes

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Chris McKiddie threw a no hitter through the first seven innings to lead the Siena Heights baseball team to an 8-0 victory over Lourdes.

McKiddie fanned nine Gray Wolves and walked four while on the hill for the Saints (13-21, 12-9 WHAC). Ben Finn saw time out of the bull pen throwing one inning and striking out one.

Offensively, the Saints scored four in the first inning to set the tone. Pacing the Saints was Nate Fryz going 20for-2 and adding a run. John Watts was 3-for-5 on the day. Watts was responsible for three of the Saints runs batting in two and scoring one. Brendan Green had a single and double while scoring twice. Freddy Jehle and Brenden Baker both doubled for the Saints. Carson Wlad, Kevin Ketvirtis and Bradley Connochie each had a hit for SHU.

York suffered the loss for Lourdes (7-24, 4-17 WHAC), going six innings. Zsolcsak and Vomastek also threw for Lourdes.

The Saints will be in action again on Wednesday when they will travel to face cross town rival Adrian in a single game at 5 p.m.
