Baseball Takes Two Losses to Spring Arbor and Thomas

LAKE WALES, Fla. -- The Siena Heights baseball team dropped two contests to Spring Arbor, 13-2, and Thomas (Ga.), 9-7, on Thursday.

Full statistics against Spring Arbor were not available at the time of release.

In the second game of the day, Thomas opened the scoring in the first inning, pushing three runs across the plate. The Saints (6-9) responded with two runs in the third, but the Nighthawks put another run on the board.

TU sealed the deal in the bottom of the fourth, sending four runners home to make it 8-3. SHU went on to score four more runs but it wasn't enough as they dropped the game 9-7.

Brendan Green led SHU, going 3-of-4 against Thomas. The Saints were outhit 13-9 by the Nighthawks.

Taking the loss on the mound was Tristan Roth who allowed 11 hits and eight earned runs. He was relieved by Robert Oliver III in the fourth, earning three strikeouts and allowing two hits. For Thomas, Justin Young earned the win with three strikeouts and four hits.

Next up, the Saints will face Saint Francis (Ind.) and Warner (Fla.), on Friday. First pitch is set for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
