Stricklin Efforts Not Enough as Baseball Falls to Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Travis Stricklin hit 4-for-4 against Adrian but it wasn't enough as the Siena Heights baseball team lost 9-3 on Tuesday.

The Saints opened the scoring in the second inning after Stricklin sent a double into left field and Daniel Muller and Austin Hauck grounded out and hit a sacrifice fly, respectively.

Adrian responded with three runs in the bottom of the second, all earned against SHU pitcher Chris McKiddie.

Matthew Bondy hit a single to the shortstop to get the Saints started. Stricklin hit a single followed by Muller reaching on an error to load the bases. Bondy and Stricklin scored to tie it up, 3-3.

The Bulldogs answered with a six runs, two outs rally against the losing Siena pitcher, Erich Klingelhofer.

Shane Healy was the winning Bulldog pitcher.

The Saints will be back in action when they play a conference double-header against Madonna starting at 2 p.m. at home, on Wednesday.
